Bringing 100,000 GPUs to Europe
Strategic alliance with Hypertec and 5C delivers large-scale infrastructure to power AI innovation across Europe
We're excited to announce Together AI's expansion into Europe through a strategic infrastructure partnership with Hypertec, a Canadian leader in sustainable AI infrastructure, and 5C Group, a major builder of next-generation AI data centers.
This marks our largest infrastructure deployment in Europe. Initial rollouts begin in late 2025 with large-scale buildouts planned through 2028, addressing Europe's growing demand for sovereign, regulation-ready AI infrastructure to power frontier model training, inference workloads, and generative AI innovation.
Building Infrastructure and Teams for European AI Operations
Our European expansion combines infrastructure deployment with local team building. We're building the technical capabilities and regional expertise to serve European customers.
Located in London, James Barker has joined Together AI as VP of EMEA, bringing experience scaling technology platforms across European markets. Our expansion builds on our recent acquisition of CodeSandbox, which bolstered our engineering and research operations in Amsterdam, led by Max Ryabinin, VP Research & Development.
This infrastructure and team combination allows us to serve our growing community of over 700,000 developers worldwide while meeting the specific performance, compliance, and sovereignty requirements of European customers.
Infrastructure Scale for AI
The infrastructure partnership with Hypertec and 5C will deliver compute capabilities:
- Up to 2 gigawatts of AI-dedicated data center capacity
- Nearly 100,000 NVIDIA Blackwell and future-generation GPUs
- Priority deployments in France, the UK, Italy, and Portugal
This deployment addresses compute capacity needs while enabling innovation across the region
"Europe's moment to have independence and leadership in AI requires platforms that enable its ambition," said Vipul Ved Prakash, CEO of Together AI. "By bringing our high-performance AI Cloud and powerful developer platform for model inference and fine-tuning to Europe, we're enabling enterprises and researchers to harness open-source and custom frontier models with full control over performance, compliance, and cost."
Building Sovereign AI Infrastructure
The European deployment brings Together AI's full platform capabilities, optimized for local regulatory and operational requirements:
Model Ecosystem: Support for inference and fine-tuning of more than 200 open-source models, including the latest DeepSeek and Llama models, with the performance advantages that have made Together AI the preferred platform for leading AI companies.
Regulatory Compliance: Infrastructure designed to meet EU regulations, data sovereignty requirements, and digital privacy standards while maintaining the performance and flexibility of our platform.
Sustainability Focus: The partnership leverages 5C’s and Hypertec’s sustainable data centers and operational expertise to deliver high-performance AI cloud compute with reduced environmental impact.
The end result is that Together AI is able to deliver an end-to-end AI cloud platform for European enterprises, research institutions, and AI-native companies.
"From engineering data centers and compute infrastructure to deploying and operating GPU clusters with advanced cooling technologies, we deliver unmatched performance, reliability, and speed. With Together AI and Hypertec, we are bringing this capability to Europe - tailored for local needs, digital sovereignty, and world-class sustainability," said Jonathan Ahdoot, CEO of 5C Group.
This infrastructure foundation enables European developers and enterprises to access the same platform capabilities that have attracted hundreds of thousands of developers to Together AI globally - fast inference, cost efficiency, and the flexibility to fine-tune and deploy custom models while maintaining complete data control.
European AI Infrastructure Timeline
The European buildout begins this year, with initial deployments coming online throughout the remainder of the year. As we scale this infrastructure and our local teams, we're working with European enterprises, research institutions, and the developer community to ensure our platform serves regional AI development needs.

Q: Should I use the RedPajama-V2 Dataset out of the box?
RedPajama-V2 is conceptualized as a pool of data that serves as a foundation for creating high quality datasets. The dataset is thus not intended to be used out of the box and, depending on the application, data should be filtered out using the quality signals that accompany the data. With this dataset, we take the view that the optimal filtering of data is dependent on the intended use. Our goal is to provide all the signals and tooling that enables this.
